|10:26 pm - Winter wonderland|
One of my favourite meteorological phenomena happened today: hoar-frost!
I am baffled.
it's lovely, though.
Overnight fog deposited a layer of hoary frost on trees. The effect is even more stunning when it's sunny, but that usually means a wind has already come through to blow the frost off.
I'm also a big fan of sun dogs
Now that you have proper snow boots, y'all should come up north some December or January and see these for yourself. :)
Oh honey, I love you, but it'll take more than pretty frost to get me up there in January.
June? Other matter entirely. :)
Why must you place conditions on our love? :)
I'm impressed with one of my Brasileira LJ friends (from the heart of Minas) who is up in Ottawa right now. She loves Canada for some reason (I know, what's THAT all about?), and decided that if she was going to visit, it would be in the dead of winter to get the full effect of being in a different place. I encourage you to follow her example. :)
I admire her ovaries! But being that I already deal with a Winter, I do not feel the need to add to my pains.
A mild summer, however, is very novel to me. ;)
You'd be surprised at how hot our summers can get. Nowhere near the 100s that one can get in Florida, Texas or California, but upper 80s to mid 90s are not uncommon. And high humidity. And mosquitoes that carry West Nile Virus. :)
Remind me why I live here?
something to do with family being here. there is no other explanation.
oh, and sheer laziness. I hate the effort of moving. :)
Gorgeous photos (especially the first two)! Is photography a hobby of yours or were you just born with a great eye for photos? Either way, I'm jealous. First it was the squirrel, and now these... :)
God, I love winter. We're in summer here and about to hit the worst (i.e. hottest) month, and I want to cry when I think about what's to come. :S Photos like this make me live in the hope I can get through the disgusting heat (we got to 118°F last summer and have already had a day of 111.8°F).
Thank you. :) Photography is more an interest than a hobby. I know a little about composition etc., but I mostly just do the snapshot variety.
I love winter too. In summer, I complain about the heat. In winter, I never complain about the cold. I mention it, and do exclaim that "god, it's cold." But it's not as a complaint, more like an affirmation.
