Well, 2010 is proving to be an interesting year already, mostly because one of the potentially "interesting bits" mentioned in a previous post will not be happening. Which is interesting in itself, no?
Will I say what this "interesting bit" might have been? Not now. It needs a bit more thought and discussion before that happens.
Another of these bits is travel plans. One of the things that happened when I went to Boston in October is that I got to spend a bit of time with Rebeca (olivetree) and her (now) husband Martin. Only a bit of time, because they were in the throes of the climax of their wedding plans. Family. Friends. Parties. So many things to occupy their time. It made for an amazing time of meeting new people, which normally sends me into panic mode.
Anyway, I found out recently that my favourite band (The Wedding Present) are doing a tour of the US. One of their gigs is in Cambridge MA (which is basically a part of the Boston megalopolis). So now I'm at the point where I am about 90% sure that I'll be in Boston again in mid-April. As always, there are a few contingencies, and I won't know for sure until maybe a month from now. But. BUT. I've already booked the time off at work, just in case it does work out.
And, of course, this means flying into the USA, which is a fucking bother. But, I'll be visiting good people, so as we say in Portuguese, "Vai valer a pena" (basically, it'll all be worth it).
Anyway, nothing is 100% definite yet, but rapidly moving in that direction.
