It's been a few weeks, hasn't it? Last time I posted was, what, late November?
Well, I figured I might as well come out of hiding. And having said that, I realize I really haven't that much to say.
Most of my Christmas shopping is done. I just need one more and then that's it. This Christmas promises to be different from the past 15 or so. This is because all of my nieces and nephews are no longer young enough to be in the church pageant. So this year, what I do on Chrismtas eve will not be specifically mapped out. I'm a bit sad about that, but also happy, in that I won't need to cringe my way through another lame production for the sake of the children. I'll most likely just hang out with my brothers and sister until the entire clan convenes.
Because we're of German descent, Christmas eve is the big day for us. As in, that's the night we open presents. I've always enjoyed being different in that regard.
Mostly, I'm looking forward to the days around New Year's, when I'll be spending some quality time in Calgary with alysbowie. I think this will be the first New Year's Eve in many years that I'll actually spend the evening with someone that I really WANT to spend the evening with.
Anyway, I hope all you who read this have a happy time during this holiday season, in whatever way you celebrate (or don't).
