The 80's
The decade when I was in high school and became an adult. The decade when my musical tastes were being formed and defined. The decade when I went through a stupid, regrettable religious phase. The decade when I felt most awkward and useless and all that negative stuff (may have been a proto-emo).
Food - lunch time
Food is one of the great joys in life. It (along with sex) is one of life's simplest pleasures (and one so easily abused). I love trying different, new foods. I love returning to my favourites. A good feijoada. An aromatic curry. Sushi. I'm salivating as I type this...
Lunch-time is a lovely break in my work day, when I can leave the building for an hour and not think about work. I usually do crossword puzzles or read while having a cup of coffee at Twist Café.
Soccer
Soccer is life. Everything else is mere detail. Soccer is the most beautiful and basic of team games. A wonderful example of individuals working/playing together. People who dismiss it as mere sport, or a game for children, have no imagination. People like David Beckham infuriate me because they take the game and use it to serve their own need for celebrity. If I were truly misogynistic, I'd blame it on Posh.
Paraná
One of the three southern states of Brazil. Capital is Curitiba, where I lived from about 3 to 7 years old. The state where Iguaçu Falls are located. The state that I hope to explore a bit more in March and April. It's where my heart lives.
Lilith
My beautiful kitty. She has been a part of my life since Feb. 2000 (NINE years!). I named her Lilith because she's a little demon. However, my Lilith is not nearly as bad as her namesake, as the picture below clearly shows:
